Why should I use JDownloader?

Have you ever downloaded something from the Internet? Then JDownloader is for you! It makes downloading easier, faster, and more reliable.

Ever had a large download fail shortly before it was finished and then had to redownload the whole file?

This wouldn't have happened with JDownloader. It would have automatically tried to resume the download and not just start downloading again from the beginning.

Ever found yourself right-clicking -> "Save as" multiple times in a row?

For example when saving a photo album a friend of yours has uploaded to a social network? With JDownloader, you only have to copy the URL of that page to the clipboard, and it will automatically add them to your download list. You can also highlight and copy just the parts of the website containing the files or links you are trying to download to the clipboard. It's as easy as that.

How can I add downloads to JDownloader?

There are multiple ways of adding downloads:

  • Copy the link(s), URL(s), or any other content you might want to download to your clipboard. If JDownloader is running, it should automatically detect all the files that you want to download.
  • Click on "Add New Links" in the bottom left corner, then enter or paste the the links, URLs or anything else you might want to download from there. You can then change any settings you might like to change, like the download folder, and then press "Continue".
  • Right-Click either in the Downloads- or LinkGrabber view and click on "Add New Links". This will show a dialogue with advanced settings just like when you click on the button in the bottom left corner.
  • How can I start downloading, once I have added the links to JDownloader?

    Easy. there are two ways:

  • If you want to start all of the downloads/links that you have added to the LinkGrabber, navigate to the LinkGrabber tab, and click on "Start all downloads" in the bottom right corner. This will start downloading all of the files you have added to the LinkGrabber.
  • If you only want to download a particular file or files, select those links, right-click on them, and then choose "Start Downloads"
  • Is JDownlaoder free?

Yes! JDownloader is completely free. If you have paid for JDownloader anywhere on the internet, you have most likely been scammed. Please try to get your money back as soon as possible!

Is JDownloader a P2P (Peer to Peer) tool?

No! JDownloader does currently not have any P2P functionality. Everything you download goes directly from the server you download it from to your hard drive and won't be shared with anyone else. Unlike most P2P programs, the files you download with JDownloader will also NOT be publically visible to anyone who is monitoring that file. JDownloader takes privacy seriously.
